Video - Effective Promotion Using Signature Lines

In today’s WebTrafficWire.com tip, we’re going to look at a very powerful tool you can use to create powerful, high PR rank backlinks to your website.

Go to Affiliate Page Dominator /marketing, http://www.affiliatepagedominator.com/marketing/signature/ and look at “Signature:”

Here they talk about the tactic of adding a signature file to your email software, which is a very good thing to do.

The second tactic is to participate in marketing forums. Here you can see links to several forums: Digital Point Forum; WebProWorld; Instant Buzz Community Forum; iWeb Tool; WAHM – Work at Home Mom; Free Advertising Forum; The Warriors Forum. There are several great forums listed here.

Another great resource is the Top Forum Directory, with over 2,000 forums, so you can find a forum that has to do with the niche that you’re marketing in.

Click on “Big Boards,” which is currently showing 2,157 active boards and forums within the database. As an example, use the search term “dance” to see if there are any forums about dance that could related to a website about dance lessons.

In the Big Boards results are 14 forums that have to do with dance (and Dance Dance Revolution): Dance Zone, a Brazilian dance forum; electronic and dance music forums; Dance Dance revolution video game forums; dance music and DJ forums; electronic dance music discussion board; a dance and music community; club and rave in the U.S.; Australian dance music.

Simply go to some of these forums, participate in and add positive input along with your signature file that contains the URL of your website. You will create both traffic and backlinks to your website.

Using Google to Check for Backlinks and Great Web Titles

In today’s WebTrafficWire.com tip, we’re going to look at a couple of tools that the major search engines have that you can use to research your website and improve its rankings.

The first thing we are going to look at is links – the backlinks that are showing up as indexed and linking back to your particular website.

Go to Google, and type in link, then a colon and your domain name.

Example

link:foxnews.com
Google comes back with 28,700 links to foxnews.com

Next, search Yahoo.com, changing the search to linkdomain:foxnews.com and see what they have. Yahoo returns 6,448, 477 backlinks to foxnews.com – a very large difference, compared to Google.

I have found that Yahoo does have a much larger inclusive mix of backlinks, and it is more representative of the links back to your website. So, when you want to look for backlinks, use the Yahoo search.

Example: you want to set up a website to do with dance lessons. One of the important decisions that you make when you set up a website is the title of the page. Go to Google and type in allintitle, then colon, then dance lessons.

allintitle: dance lessons - Google comes back with 112,000 websites that have “dance lessons” within the title of that particular webpage.

You can use this to learn exactly what your competition is, and to determine what the best keywords to use would be when developing your own website’s title.
